What will you experience?

I facilitate a working alliance with children, young people and families within therapeutic relationships to work through various psychological and personal challenges. Specialising in psychological therapies in cross-cultural and gender dynamics; with a specialist understanding of working-class socioeconomic backgrounds, Black Caribbean, African, and diverse global majority backgrounds and heritage. I am inclusive of all and will signpost to appropriate alternatives when appropriate.

What you can expect should you get in touch? 

​

Following receipt of your enquiry, I will contact you to arrange a free 20-minute telephone booking. This will be an opportunity to introduce yourself, provide some initial details about why you have chosen therapy and ask questions.

Initial consultation

​

Full consultation of up to 1.15 hours when parents/carers can share the difficulties you are facing, your background and what you hope to gain from therapy. You will have the opportunity to ask me questions about the therapeutic process and experience how sessions might feel.

Children and young people

​

Following the initial consultation, we will arrange an Introductory Meeting with your child or young person. Here they will have an opportunity to speak about their concerns and ask any questions they choose to bring. If you, your child or young person and I all agree that therapy will be useful, we will confirm weekly sessions, each session being for 50 minutes.

Young people 

​

Enquiring Non-dependents over the age of 18 may be offered to attend an initial consultation in place of parents/carers.

Parental Sessions  


Following the initial consultation, we will engage in sessions, and schedule an appointment structure that meets the needs of your family.

What can you expect?

Treasure Therapies provides 1:1 sessions taking place once weekly for 50 minutes unless working in short term consultation with families. I also provide online therapy when it is appropriate for the individual client. With your commitment, self-acceptance and self-mastery are enriched

​

Client led sessions can evolve to safely sharing parts of yourself, thoughts and emotions through dialogue, movement, and the use of resources. In sessions, you are enabled to explore and manage challenges with reduced pain as I offer an authentic, non-judgemental consistent presence.

 

The therapeutic relationship developed with each client brings opportunities to explore all aspects of what takes place in the room as well as your past experiences, to better understand and manage present life and relationships. In person therapy takes place in a space designed for your comfort and safety with resources for various types of play including role-play, tabletop games, activities, art and story making.

My approach, structured by Psychodynamic theory and practice, draws on various models of my training. I align therapy with the individual needs of the client. Additional approaches include Mindfulness breath-work and visualisations, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), including using worksheets and written formats of exploring, Psychological-education and goal setting.
